[[File:Touchingon.jpeg|right|200px]]"Touching On" is a 1978 album credited to John Stevens, and Allan performs on guitar throughout. Since the music was largely improvised, Allan received co-composer credit on two tracks. This is “freebag” music, totally improvised jazz. Allan considered all the albums he did with John Stevens as bootlegs. He agreed to do this album, which he claims he never got paid for, and considered the other John Stevens recordings unauthorized outtakes. Allan mostly plays with a clean tone along drums, acoustic piano and bass. There are good moments here, but the music has a meandering quality which makes it challenging listening.
