Tempest (album)
Tempest is the 1973 debut album of the band of the same name! The band was put together by Jon Hiseman, but the tunes were for a large part co-written with members of the band. The album was recorded in London in late 1972 at AIR London Recording Studios. The band was modeled on Cream, but had a more progressive sound. The album sounds surprisingly good to this day. Allan was starting to get his recorded sound in order, and his playing sounds better and more assertive than on "Belladonna". There are plenty guitar solos throughout. "Strangeher" is a good example: The tune is based on a simple boogie riff, but Allan takes his solo far beyond simple pentatonics. "Upon Tomorrow" features Allan on violin.
