The concert shows Allan in the last part of his career. The interesting thing is that his solos are still masterful, maybe not on par with his work in the 90s, but nevertheless in command. Where his aging shows, it is primarily in the chord melody parts. Themes are simplified, and comping is more straightforward, at least rhythmically. According to Gary Husband, this was the very last time they played together, and possibly even saw one another. | |||
