PEDAL STEEEL

A pedal steel is a completely different beast to me - it would take a lifetime or maybe five lifetimes to learn it. I play chords on it, and I try real hard to keep it in tune. It's a difficult instrument to play. But I don't envision using it on stage. But pedal steel guitar kills me - it's such a beautiful sound. I have one so that I can actually use that color on records. I'll probably play it again; I used it for some of the accompaniment chords on "Tokyo Dream."
